Cleethorpes Festival of Music and Words

Members of the chorus took part in the annual Cleethorpes Festival of Music and Words on Saturday 17th June. We sang in three separate categories of the competition. Our songs were Blackbird, The Ballad of Bonnie and Clyde, Moonlight Becomes You and It Could Happen to You. A quartet of singers: Dean, Steve, Joe and Paul, also sang in the quartet competition. The chorus came first in the male barbershop category. This was largely due to the fact that we were the only male barbershop chorus competing. Also in the the other categories were the ladies of the main Street Sound chorus (York) and the Abbey Belles (Selby). After the event we trundled down to the amazing Papas fish and trip restaurant on the pier. You should try it!
